Part 3 Life-Giving Truth

Heather Bixler said, Trusting God enough to guide us down the best pathway of our life requires us to first surrender our life to Him.

Three Things I’ve Learned

  1. Surrendering to God is showing complete faith in Him and belief in His promises.
  2. Surrendering control is a daily, moment-by-moment choice.
  3. Surrender is literally giving up all control.

Andrew Murray- Just as water ever seeks and fills the lowest place, so the moment God finds you abased and empty, His glory and power flow in.

Romans 10:11 (AMPC) 11 The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed.

Proverbs 3:5–6 (ESV) 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

4 Important Lessons Learned

  1. Take God at His Word

Rick Warren said, “The more you believe and trust God, the more limitless your possibilities become for your family, your career – for your life!”

Numbers 23:19 (GNT) “God is not like people, who lie; He is not a human who changes his mind. Whatever he promises, he does; He speaks, and it is done”

  1. Understand the Outcome doesn’t Depend on Me.

Proverbs 3:5 (AMP) 5 “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.”

Penned Truth: Trusting God takes responsibility for the outcome off my shoulders and places it in God’s hands.

  1. Accept that God is Sovereign

Jeremiah 32:17 (NLT) 17 “O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!

Psalm 103:19 (NLT) 19 The Lord has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything.

  1. Watch who you hang out with

Proverbs 13:20 (ESV) 20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

Proverbs 13:20 (GNT) 20 Keep company with the wise and you will become wise. If you make friends with stupid people, you will be ruined.

Proverbs 13:20 (MSG) 20 Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces.
