The Past is Past; It’s A New Day

Opening Statement: Don’t hold on to the past.  Let go of past hurts and failures.  Let go of past disappointments.  Don’t let the past hold you back.  Move forward.  It’s a new day.  He makes all things new.  He offers new mercies every day.

Lamentations 3: 22-23 (NKJV) Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Statement: There is a new mercy for a new season.  God is shutting the door on yesterday and all that was previous.  Don’t rehearse losses, failures, regrets, wounds, and offenses.  LET IT GO!  Don’t hold on to it!  Choose to walk in forgiveness.  Forgive others and forgive yourself.  When we can’t forgive ourselves, we can’t move forward.

Proverbs 17:9 (NLT) Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends.

Proverbs 19:11 (NLT) Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs.

Col. 3:12-13 NLT 12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Hebrews 11:6 (NLT) 6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

Thought: The unseen realm is where God lives.  There is more power there than in the natural realm that we can see.  That’s where the supernatural happens.  That’s where the spiritual warfare is taking place.

2 Corinthians 4: 17-18 (NKJV) 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Matthew 18: 18-19 (NLT) 18 “I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid (bind) on earth will be forbidden (bound) in heaven, and whatever you permit (loose) on earth will be permitted (loosed) in heaven. 19 “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.

Statement: We are Christ’s Ecclesia—the representatives of His Kingdom government on earth; binding and loosing; and releasing Heaven’s judgments against the powers of Hell.

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Statement: We must know the truth so we will not be deceived.  Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” We must know Jesus and His Word so we will not be easily deceived.  The devil mixes a little truth with a lie to deceive people.  If you know what the Bible says and your mind has been renewed, you won’t be easily deceived.

Thought: To let go of your past and move forward, you must renew your mind through His word.  Walk into your new beginning and your new season through Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV) “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Closing Statement: Don’t hold on to the past.  Let go of past hurts and failures.  Let go of past disappointments.  Don’t let the past hold you back.  Move forward.  It’s a new day.  He makes all things new.  He offers new mercies every day.  Great is His faithfulness!
