Right Here Right Now Part 1
Billy Graham- My home is in Heaven. I’m just traveling through this world.
John 14:1–3 (ESV) 1 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
1. Do you long for things this world simply can’t provide you?
Penned Truth: Jesus doesn’t just prepare a home for us in Heaven. He wants to prepare His Home in us. So He can provide what the world cannot offer.
Things To Clean Up In 2023
#1 We Must Let Go Of Control
Andrew Murray- Just as water ever seeks and fills the lowest place, so the moment God finds you abased and empty, His glory and power flow in.
King James Dictionary | ABA’SED: Reduced to a low state, humbled.
Penned Truth: As Christians, we are to live a life in constant identification with the cross.
Galatians 2:20 (ESV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
1 Corinthians 15:31 (ESV) 31 I protest, brothers, by my pride in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die every day!
Oxford Languages Dictionary | Self-will: obstinately doing what one wants in spite of the wishes or orders of others.
John 3:28–30 (ESV) 28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him.’ 29 The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.”
Penned Truth: The crucified life is a choice, me first or God first. Which choice are we making each day?
2 Corinthians 5:13–15 (ESV) 13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
Acts 16:6–10 (ESV) 6 And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. 7 And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. 8 So, passing by Mysia, they went down to Troas. 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 And when Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.
Matthew 16:24–25 (ESV) 24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Penned Truth: Crucifying the flesh illustrates the putting to death of our selfish will to put God’s will first.
