But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.” (1 Samuel 13:14, NLT)

As he was talking with them, Goliath, the Philistine champion from Gath, came out from the Philistine ranks. Then David heard him shout his usual taunt to the army of Israel. As soon as the Israelite army saw him, they began to run away in fright. (1 Samuel 17:23-24, NLT)

David – Supremely Brave

The difference between David and the Israelite army –
Where the army could not see past their fear, David could see what God saw, that there was sin that needed to be removed.
