Orison Defined: A Prayer or Prayer

A Prayer | Definition Oxford Languages: a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God.

R. A. Torrey said, “There are three reasons we should pray. One, because there is a Devil, Two, as a way of obtaining things, Three, because it’s part of the pattern God established for Christians.

Penned Truth #1: After a period of time, we find our Orison coming from the lagoon. We feel isolated, standing alone.

Luke 11:10 (ESV) For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

In Luke 11:5-10

Luke 18:1-8 (NIV) Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2 He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. 3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ 4 “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!'” 6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. . .”

Penned Truth #2: Endurance is the resilient virtue

Resilience Defined:  the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, tragedy, or significant sources of stress.

Endurance | KJV Dictionary: A bearing or suffering; a continuing under pain or distress without sinking or yielding to the pressure; sufferance; patience. To last; to continue in the same state without perishing; to remain; to abide. To bear; to brook; or without yielding.

My Definition: Endurance is the power of going on in spite of difficulties. To tarry and wait. To stand courageously.

Joyce Landorf writes, “God’s waiting room is the most difficult aspect of the Christian experience.”

Final Statement: Are you close to quitting on your prayer? Don’t do it. Hang in there. Roll up your sleeves and get back in there. So don’t quit. Never give up. Keep going. Hold on. God’s rewards await us. Matthew 18:19 Amplified Bible 19 “Again I say to you, that if two [a]believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
