Psalm 27:14 (NLV) 14 Wait for the Lord. Be strong. Let your heart be strong. Yes, wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27:14 (NLV) 14 Wait for the Lord.
Anchored | Cambridge English Dictionary: to make something or someone stay in one position by fastening him, her, or it firmly:
Billy Graham said, “Faith literally means ‘to give up, surrender, or commit. ’Faith is complete confidence.”
John Ortberg once said, “Biblically, waiting is not just something we have to do until we get what we want. Waiting is part of the process of becoming what God wants us to be.”
Part 1 Fidei
Penned Truth: Our life must be anchored in faith while patiently waiting on a faithful God.
Jeremiah 17:7–8 (ESV) 7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. 8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Isaiah 26:3–4 (ESV) 3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. 4 Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.
Katherine Walden, “Calm your heart, remind yourself of the truth, and pray from a place of trust that God’s care is unwavering. Rest assured, you are always heard, knowing that God cares more about your situation than you do.”
Penned Truth: We must learn to trust His character and that He is good and faithful rather than focusing on our circumstances. So, wait!
2 Corinthians 4:7–18 (ESV) 7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11 For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death is at work in us, but life in you. 13 Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, 14 knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. 15 For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. 16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
Special Note: In our faith journey there are divine delays orchestrated by God.
Waiting patiently in faith:
• Demonstrates trust
• Strengthens resilience
• Deepens divine connection
• Promotes inner peace
Penned Truth: Humility opens the door to this serenity when we surrender control to Him.
Psalm 130:5 (AMP) 5 I wait [patiently] for the Lord, my soul [expectantly] waits, And in His word do I hope.
Penned Truth: Waiting expectantly means we don’t fret or wait fearfully; we wait, expecting God to be involved and engage in our world actively on our behalf.
Final Statement: As I have studied the bible over these 41 years, I see people like Abraham, Ana, Joseph, Moses, Ruth, David, and Naomi all had to wait for many years for God’s promises. Everything that happened in the meantime prepared them, inwardly as well as outwardly, to receive a blessing beyond measure. Patience is crucial in faith because it demonstrates trust while enduring challenges, accepting God’s timing, and deepening our divine connection by waiting without losing faith. Let go of control and let God be God in your life.
