Part 3 Aufgabe
Penned Truth: Aufgabe (mission) begins in the heart of God and is revealed by the Holy Spirit.
Charles H. Spurgeon said, “Every Christian is either a missionary or an impostor.”
Matthew 4:18–22 (ESV) 18 While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called
Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19 And he said to them,
“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 Immediately they left their nets and followed him. 21
And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the
boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat
and their father and followed him.
Penned Truth: Discovering our God-given mission is an issue of great importance to our lives and for
others, too.
Matthew 5:14 (ESV) 14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Merriam-Webster’s collegiate thesaurus | Mission: a continuing task or responsibility that one is destined
or fitted to do or specially called upon to undertake.
Penned Truth: A personal mission from God represents a unique purpose in life, transforming it into an
extraordinary adventure of living out the gospel.
Governed Define: Strongly influence the actions and conduct of a person.
Ephesians 2:10 (EXB) 10 ·God has made us what we are [ For we are his handiwork workmanship work of
art]. In Christ Jesus, God ·made [created] us to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to
live our lives doing.
Penned Truth: We all have the same mission, but our individual uniqueness, gifts, talents, and life
experiences will cause us to fulfill God’s missions in different ways.
John 15:4 (ESV) 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the
vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
Penned Truth- The table is where a deep connection and communion with God the Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit are taking place.
Prayer- Father, help me identify my mission based on my talents, personality, and life situation, including
my strengths, weaknesses, passions, and life experiences, so I might serve you and others well.
Ezekiel 44:23 (ESV) 23 They shall teach my people the difference between the holy and the common, and
show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean.
Acts 9:15 (ESV) 15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name
before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.
Final Statement: A personal mission from God infuses your life with purpose, direction, and meaning,
guiding your thoughts and actions. God’s personal mission for your life drives the other missions God
wants us to connect to. When you and I embrace our mission, we live with intention, contributing to
something far more significant than ourselves. A personal mission from God helps us align our lives with
God’s will, bringing glory to Him and leading to a fulfilling life that resonates with divine purpose.
