Part 1- 72 Disciples

Luke 10:1 (ESV) 1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.

Luke 6:12 (ESV) 12 In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.

Luke 6:13 (ESV) 13 And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles:

Luke 10:1 (AMP) 1 Now after this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them out ahead of Him, two by two, into every city and place where He was about to go.

Penned Truth: You don’t need to be an apostle, prophet, evangelist, or teacher; you don’t have to have a formal ministry title to share the gospel of good news.

Luke 10:1 (EXB) 1 After this, the Lord ·chose [appointed] ·seventy-two [the number may reflect the 70 nations listed in the “table of nations” in Genesis 10 (the Greek text of which reads “72”) and so foreshadows the mission to the Gentiles] others and sent them out in pairs ahead of him into every town and place where he ·planned [was about] to go.

Luke 9:51 (ESV) 51 When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem.

Penned Thought: The 72 were the new John the Baptist, preparing the way for the Lord. We, too, are called to prepare the way for the Lord.

Watchman Nee- I consecrate myself to God to do His will where I am, be it in school, office, or kitchen, or wherever He may, in His wisdom, send me.

Final Statement: Your frontline is the place where you spend the majority of your time with non-Christians. So, it could be your neighborhood, office, college friends, gym, local coffee shop, grocery store, anywhere. As Christians, we must start making sharing the gospel a priority.  To do this will require a shift in how we think about our frontlines. Today, tomorrow, and until our last breath, the church must prepare people for Jesus’ return. I know this is a big calling, but remember this: Jesus has already equipped us to succeed in sharing the good news gospel with the frontlines.
