Part 4 Cultures Agenda

Lysa TerKeurst once said, “Remember who you are. Don’t compromise for anyone, for any reason. You are a child of the Almighty God. Live that truth.”

Daniel 3:1-2, 4-6, 8, 12 (ESV) 1 King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits and its breadth six cubits. He set it up on the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. 2 Then King Nebuchadnezzar sent to gather the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces to come to the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. 4 And the herald proclaimed aloud, “You are commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, 5 that when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. 6 And whoever does not fall down and worship shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace.” 8 Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came forward and maliciously accused the Jews. 12 There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men, O king, pay no attention to you; they do not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

Daniel 3:13 (NLT) 13 Then Nebuchadnezzar flew into a rage and ordered that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought before him.

Ephesians 6:12 (AMP) 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.

Daniel 3:15 (NLT) 15 I will give you one more chance to bow down and worship the statue I have made when you hear the sound of the musical instruments….

1 Corinthians 16:13 (AMP) 13 Be on guard; stand firm in your faith [in God, respecting His precepts and keeping your doctrine sound]. Act like [mature] men and be courageous; be strong.

•               Stand firm and take courage, God is there.

Courage | Dictionary of Bible Themes: The quality of being able to act bravely under difficulties or in the face of opposition; in obedience to God….

Daniel 3:16 (AMP) 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego answered the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to answer you on this point. (NLT) we do not need to defend ourselves before you. (TLB) “O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not worried about what will happen to us.

Penned Truth: When the secular culture sees you stand firm with courage and not compromise, they will see God in you.

•               Stand firm take a step of faith, God is there.

Daniel 3:17–18 (ESV) 17 If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

Daniel 3:19-23 (NLT) 19 Nebuchadnezzar was so furious with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that his face became distorted with rage. He commanded that the furnace be heated seven times hotter than usual.

Daniel 3:24-25 (NLT) 24 But suddenly, Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and exclaimed to his advisers, “Didn’t we tie up three men and throw them into the furnace?” “Yes, Your Majesty, we certainly did,” they replied. 25 “Look!” Nebuchadnezzar shouted. “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god[a]!” 26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came as close as he could to the door of the flaming furnace and shouted: “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!” So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepped out of the fire. 28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He sent his angel to rescue his servants who trusted in him. They defied the king’s command and were willing to die rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.

Ephesians 6:14 (NLT) 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth….

Final Statement: Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are heroes who refused to compromise. They are our mentors in standing firm and trusting God because He is always there. We do not have to stop being committed Christians; we can boldly face the world’s secular culture with complete assurance that we live in a win-win life as ambassadors of Jesus Christ. So, let us stand firm in the Word of God and remain unshaken.
